All the way back to last Thursday (that seems SO long ago), my mom, Amy & I spent the day planning for the wedding. We tackled flowers, decorations, arrangements to pick out a cake, looked at Unity candles, and updated our "to do" list. First we went to Flowers on the Side and browsed through books and I had an idea of what I wanted my bouquet to look like which helped. We finalized all of those plans (which was a HUGE relief)!! I had this WONDERFUL picture in my head of how it was all going to look and felt very pleased. Next we looked briefly at some shops for Unity Candles with no luck, went to lunch, headed to Maquoketa to look at a few shops, and then to Preston where Joann Keifer lives (the decorator). She knew my colors and had her house all set up with TONS of ideas most of which were in the colors we are having. We picked out decorations for the altar at the church, the guest book table, memory vase for flowers, pew decorations, head table decorations, gift box & gift table decorations, guest table decorations, entry way decorations, cake table decorations! She had it all and is truely a LIFESAVER!! That was A LOT of fun and this picture in my head became even better than before! I'm not feeling overwhelmed at the time and can only hope that lasts..............
That night we had dinner at my parents. My mom has a medicine dropper there in case of need. So Michael taught Emma how to fill the dropper and squirt the water EVERYWHERE (including all over my mom's freshly scrubbed floor). She thought she was pretty funny and laughed and laughed!! Michael's laughter and encouragement only egged her on even more!!
